Q. How old do you have to be to take driver education?
A. There is no minimum age but we reccomend that a student be 15 years old to begin driver education.

Q. Who has to take driver education anyway?
A. All individuals, regardless of age, who have never been licensed to drive must complete a driver education course before being licensed in the state of Utah.

Q. Can you guarantee that I will get a driver's license?
A. No. We promise to do all we can to a) teach you to become a safe and responsible driver, b) prepare you for the written exam at your local driver's license division, and c) prepare you for the practical road test. Beyond that it is impossible to predict or guarantee how you will perform when being tested.

Q. What do I need to do to get my learner permit?
A. You must pass the written test at the driver license division with a score of 80% or better. You must also pass an eye exam wherein you must have at least 20/40 vision in one eye. The learner permit is valid for up to one year and allows the student to operate a class D motor vehicle when the person's parent, legal guardian, or adult spouse, who must be a licensed driver, is occupying the seat next to the person.

Q. How many attempts do I get to pass my written and driving tests?
A. You have 3 attempts at the written test and unlimited attempts at the road test if taken with our sister company, Roadrunner Testing Services. In the event that you do not pass your written test on your first attempt, you may attempt it again immediately. It is a 50-question, closed book, multiple choice and true/false test that you must pass with a score of 80%. If you fail your road test you must  wait one day to be tested again.

Q. How many hours do I need to drive with my parents?
A. All individuals under 18 years of age must complete 40 hours of driving, six of which will occur during driver education. The remaining 34 hours (ten hours must be done after dark) must be certified by a parent or guardian when they sign the minor's application.

Q. When do I drive with an instructor?
A. .You may begin your driving immediately upon getting your learner permit and your tuition must be paid in full..  You may schedule your drives anytime Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling 229-8037, and you will choose your own drive times. Drives are typically two hours in length.

Q. How fast can I finish driver's education?
A. This mostly depends on your attendance, motivation, and the type of course you choose. The home study course can be the fastest and students have been known to complete both classroom/workbook and driving requirements in 4 days.

Q. What kind of cars do you use?
A. We drive late model automatic vehicles. We currently do not have any manual transmission cars in our fleet.

Q. What kind of ID will I have to show at the driver license division?
A. Every person must provide two forms of identification and two forms of proof of residency for living in Utah. The best two forms of identification are a certified birth certificate and a social security card (both originals, no photo copies). Your residency may be proved with such documents as utility bills in your name, Utah vehicle registration, bank statement, mortgage papers, major credit card bill, and property tax notices.

Q. Do you provide a car to take the road test ?
A. Yes. This is a big plus in taking the road test with our sister company,
Roadrunner Testing Services.

Q. Has anyone ever "failed" driver's education?
A. No. The only way for you to not complete driver's education is if you fail to attend your classes or drives, or if you don't complete your workbook assignments. In that case, you don't "fail" the course, you merely have not completed it. You have one year to complete the course.

Q. When I'm done with driver's education, can I take the road test with you?
A.Yes. It is a huge convienance to be able to take the road test with our "sister company," Roadrunner Testing Services.
